About Emily Shively

Born and raised in Arlington and McLean, Virginia, Emily Shively has had a front-row seat to the real estate industry from an early age. Growing up in a real estate family gave her a deep understanding of the business and, more importantly, the importance of building lasting relationships with clients and the community she calls home.

Emily attended the University of Mary Washington, where she earned degrees in Business Administration and Sports Management while competing as a collegiate basketball player. Her experience as a student-athlete shaped the discipline, work ethic, teamwork, and time management that continue to define her approach today.

Following college, Emily began her career in Wealth Management, where she gained valuable insight into financial planning, investments, and the role that strategic financial decisions play in achieving long-term goals. Working closely with clients reinforced her passion for understanding their individual needs and helping them make confident decisions about their futures.

Emily soon recognized that real estate offered the perfect intersection of her passions for helping people. Her natural attention to detail, organization, and ability to understand what clients are looking for have become integral to her approach. For Emily, one of the most rewarding parts of real estate is helping clients navigate an important life transition and ultimately seeing the excitement that comes with finding a place they can truly call home.

In 2023, Emily joined The Shively Team, working alongside her mother and team to provide a highly personalized level of service to buyers and sellers throughout Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland. Drawing on her background and expertise, Emily brings a thoughtful, strategic approach to every client relationship.

Outside of real estate, Emily remains closely connected to her passion for sports and wellness. She coaches girls' travel basketball in McLean and being a group fitness instructor. She also enjoys cooking, staying active, exploring new places with her husband and dog, Berkeley, and making the most of time spent with the people she loves.

Emily brings a combination of local expertise, business acumen, energy, hard work and genuine care to her work. Her goal is simple: to make the real estate experience feel personal, strategic, and seamless while helping each client move confidently into their next chapter.
