Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Melody has called several cities in Northern Virginia home for 30 years. Each of these locations has given her the time to immerse herself in the community and the ability to be more informative about the local areas to help educate her clients and find what they are looking for in their next home.
Melody’s passions for real estate and art grew out of her family’s real estate and art gallery businesses. These twin passions led her to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from George Mason University and a Certificate of Appraisal Studies from George Washington University.
Her appreciation and experience in the art world are invaluable skills. These paired with her global connection at Sotheby’s auction house help make the appraisal process seamless for her clients. Her in-depth knowledge and understanding allow her to be an advocate for her clients in what could be an emotional decision. Finding the true market value can be a difficult process, but Melody is ready to guide the facilitation through a smooth process. Melody strongly believes an exceptional home is simply a frame for an exceptional life.
Growing up, Melody trained in the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic program into her teen years. After high school, she shared her love of the sport with others, teaching, and coaching throughout college and beyond. Those years of rigid training and discipline laid the foundation for her professional career. Dedication of time, effort, and energy have contributed to honing her negotiation skills and always striving to achieve excellent results.
She is a strong supporter of youth sports within her family and the community. Her contributions to the Cancer Research Society and the Society for Suicide Prevention, have both touched the lives of those close to her. In her free time, Melody enjoys her children’s sporting events, art show openings, auctions, gardening, hiking, snow skiing, and traveling.
